He spends his spare time observing them in their natural environment, naming and categorising them according to size, age and distinguishing features. He has published a photographic book of the family of meerkats closest to his heart; Junior, Legal and Chebs who he has followed since their adolencence. The book, named "Andrew Brent, a guide to meerkating" was only available in South Africa and is not currently in circulation.
