The "little brother" of the X5 with the models E53 and later E70 was presented at the IAA 2003 and is since January 2004 on the market. Magna Steyr designed and built at the plant in Graz or Vienna the X3. It is the first BMW since the M1 to not be built at a BMW factory. For trips to areas away from paved roads and gravel roads are missing from the X3 a gear reduction, lockable differentials and a sufficient entanglement of the rear axle. |
