has glosseng: Capital formation is a statistical concept used in national accounts statistics, econometrics and macroeconomics. It is sometimes also used in corporate business accounts. It is a measure of the net additions to the (physical) capital stock in an accounting period, or, a measure of the amount by which the total physical capital stock increased during an accounting period; though it may occasionally also refer to the total stock of capital formed, or to the growth of this total stock.
