has gloss | eng: The coat of arms of Holmestrand was approved by Royal Resolution on 14 November 1898. It was created by the artist Andreas Bloch (1860-1917). It among other things points to the towns connections with the naval hero Peder Tordenskjold (in the middle of the white eagle is a picture of his ship Hvide Ørn white eagle.) The official version of the coat of arms also features a golden mural crown with three towers. |
