In gratitude, Zeus placed her in the heavens as the constellation Ursa Minor; according to folk etymology and the myth, Kynosoura is from κυνὸς οὐρά "dog's tail. Cynosura is also another name for the constellation Ursa Minor or its brightest star, Polaris.
