has gloss	eng: In 1979 chef David Liederman (b 1949, New York, New York) began to create cookies that became the basis for the Davids Cookies line of desserts, baked goods and cookie dough. Before settling into doing baked goods Liedermans jobs included practicing law and apprenticing at a Rouen restaurant. Starting with a $30,000 investment, he opened his first David's Cookies store on Second Avenue, near 54th Street next door to Chez Louis, his first restaurant.
