| has gloss | ell: Ο Δήμος Γέρας είναι Καποδιστριακός Δήμος του νομού Λέσβου, στη νότια πλευρά του νησιού και περίπου 25 χιλιόμετρα από τη Μυτιλήνη. Πήρε το όνομά του από τον ομώνυμο κόλπο στον οποίο δεσπόζει. Η έδρα του αποτελείται από τα χωριά Παππάδος (που είναι και έδρα του Δήμου), Παλαιόκηπος, Μεσαγρός, Σκόπελος, Πλακάδος και Πέραμα. Τα 5 από τα 6 χωριά βρίσκονται πολύ κοντά μεταξύ τους, μερικά είναι ουσιαστικά ενωμένα, ενώ το καθένα αποτελεί και έδρα ομώνυμου Δημοτικού Διαμερίσματος. Ο Δήμος κατά την απογραφή του 2001 είχε πραγματικό πληθυσμό 6.985 κατοίκων, κάτι που τον φέρνει στην τρίτη θέση ανάμεσα στους Δήμους του νησιού από πλευράς πληθυσμού. |

| has gloss | nld: Gera (Grieks: Γέρας) is een gemeente in het zuidoosten van het Griekse eiland Lesbos, het departement (nomos) Lesbos en de regio Noord-Egeïsche Eilanden. De gemeente zetel is in de stad Pappados . De gemeente grenst aan twee andere gemeente, te weten Plomari in het westen en Evergetoulas in het noorden. In het oosten grenst het aan de Golf van Gera en in het zuiden aan de Egeïsche zee. De dorpen zijn nog zeer authentiek. |
