has glosseng: Goobang Creek is a tributary of the Lachlan River in New South Wales, Australia. It joins the Lachlan River at the town of Condobolin. Prior to European settlement, the area was inhabited by the Wiradjuri people. Major Thomas Mitchell and John Oxley were early explorers in the area. The town of Condobolin was proclaimed in 1859. In the mid 1860s, gold was mined on the creek. Goobang is said to be an Aboriginal name for a species of the acacia tree.
