has gloss	eng: A bonnet/hood scoop is an upraised component on the hood of an automobile that either allows a flow of air to directly enter the engine compartment, or appears to do so. It has one opening only and is closed on all other sides. Its main function is to allow a direct flow of air to the engine, hence the need for it to be upraised so as to effectively channel air to the engine compartment. It may be closed, and thus purely decorative, or serve to enhance performance in several possible ways.

has gloss	deu: Eine Lufthutze ist eine Öffnung auf der Motorhaube oder an einer anderen Stelle der Karosserie, aber auch nur an einem separaten Raum (Kajüten, Baustellenwagen, Transformatorenstationen, Hallen), die den Eintritt von Luft oder Fahrtwind ermöglichen, oder durch Nutzung der natürlichen Luftströmung (Wind) einen Luftaustausch gewährleistet. Sie dient bei leistungsstarken Motoren zur zusätzlichen Luftkühlung oder Erleichterung der Luftzufuhr zum Motor und Ventilator, ist aber auch in der Tuningszene sehr beliebt, wobei sie dort meistens nur dem Zweck der Verschönerung und nicht der Luftzufuhr dient. In den anderen Anwendungen zur Kühlung, Austausch von Luft ohne Einsatz von Motoren (Ventilatoren) und elektromotorischer oder kraftstoffbetriebener Energie.
