The ground was first used by the Middlesex 1st XI as long ago as 1859, but had to wait until 1991 for its next match, and until 1998 to become a regular Middlesex venue. In most recent years, the ground has hosted four or five matches in the various competitions (as a consequence of MCC restrictions on the number of games Middlesex can play at Lord's), including the unforgettable Pro40 play-off win against Northamptonshire in 2007. However, in 2008 the ground will host just a solitary Friends Provident Trophy match against Sussex. |
