has gloss | eng: Lamed Hei Operation was a code name for a military operation to be performed by Jewish forces during the Civil War in Mandatory Palestine. The main objective of this operation was to prepare for a deep penetration into the Arab Palestinian areas. Execution of the plan was first suggested on February 9, 1948 by Yigael Yadin, but was rejected by the Zionist leadership in Palestine. A few days later the Zionist leadership approved similar plans with the same code name. These began on February 13, 1948 and focused on several Palestinian Arab villages. |
