has gloss	eng: The Saint Helena Police Service is the local police force for the British Overseas Territory of Saint Helena. The force is also responsible for policing on Ascension Island. The service has approximately 30 officers, with a detachment on Ascension. In addition to its policing duties, the force also has responsibility for the island's prison, immigration services and fire/sea rescue. Saint Helena has a main police station/prison in the capital Jamestown and four small police posts in rural areas, while there is a single police station and prison on Ascension in the capital Georgetown.
