Its purpose is Promoting the commercial application of science for the benefit of society.[1] Anyone can join, and the Society offers a chance to share information between sectors as diverse as food and agriculture, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, environmental science and safety. Its first President was Professor H. E. Roscoe, and its first Secretary was George E. Davis. |
