has gloss	eng: Soda pulping is a chemical process for making wood pulp with sodium hydroxide as cooking chemical. In the Soda-AQ process anthraquinone (AQ) may be used as a pulping additive to decrease the carbohydrate degradation. The soda process has still limited use for easy pulped materials like straws and some hardwoods. It gives pulp with lower tear strength than other chemical pulping processes (sulfite process and kraft process).

En modifikasjon er Soda-AQ-prosessen hvor antrakinon (AQ) blir anvendt som kokeradditiv for å redusere karbohydratdegradering av cellulose. Sulfatprosessen er den vanligste for å lage kjemisk papirmasse, men sodaprosessen anvendes for enkelte spesielle materialer som halm og enkelte tropiske løvtrær. Den gir en masse med lavere styrke enn de andre kjemiske prosessene (sulfat- og sulfittprosessen).
