has gloss	eng: The split in darts refers to an acrimonious dispute between top professional darts players and the game's governing body which began in 1992 and resulted in the formation of a new organisation to arrange tournaments - including a second version of the World Professional Darts Championship. The effect of this split is visible many years later, as there are still two pools of players, two organisations and two world championships - the original British Darts Organisation (BDO) and the newer breakaway Professional Darts Corporation.
