Tarter and has since been managed by other members of the Tarter family. The company began as a manufacturer of hand-made wooden farm gates until Tarters son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Vivian Tarter, took over it. It was then expanded to include gates of tubes and galvanized steel. Tarter is currently North Americas largest manufacturer of farm gates and animal management equipment. References
