has gloss	eng: Yorcard is the name of a pilot electronic smartcard ticketing for use in South / West Yorkshire. The pilot was commissioned by the Department for Transport and is being carried out by Yorcard Ltd on behalf of the South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive. The pilots aim is to gather information to inform the DfTs work on multi-modal smartcards. The pilot, on ten school bus services and seven regular bus services in Sheffield, began in September 2007 with children from several schools. It was extended to some rail services in December 2008.
