Dit word gesien as n manier om kennis te boekstaaf deur die skryf daarvan in boeke. Dié boeke was in wese plakboeke (scrapbooks) met items van enige aard : mediese resepte, aanhalings, briewe, gedigte, tafels vir gewigte, spreekwoorde en gebede. Ekserpteboeke is gebruik deur lesers, skrywers, studente, en humaniste as n hulp om bruikbare konsepte of feite te onthou. Elke ekserpboek was uniek ten opsigte van sy skepper se belangstellings. |
