has gloss	eng: The ALPHA Collaboration is a group of physicists from about 11 universities who work together (or "collaborate") to try to trap neutral antimatter. The neutral antimatter they are working to trap is antihydrogen. This is the antimatter version of hydrogen, the first atom in the periodic table. Antihydrogen, like hydrogen, has two oppositely charged particles. Hydrogen has a proton and an electron, and so antihydrogen would have an antiproton and a positron. A positron is the common name for the antielectron.

has gloss	fra: La Collaboration ALPHA (Antihydrogen Laser PHysics Apparatus) est une expérience menée par une équipe de physiciens composée de scientifiques venant dun grand nombre dinstitutions différentes. Elle a pour but de piéger lantimatière neutre sous la forme dantihydrogène dans un piège magnétique, puis de mener des expériences sur les antiatomes qui auront été piégés. Le but ultime de ces expériences est de tester la symétrie CPT au travers de comparaisons des spectres des atomes dhydrogène et dantihydrogène. La Collaboration ALPHA se compose partiellement danciens membres de la Collaboration ATHENA, le premier groupe à avoir produit une quantité significative dantihydrogène froid , en 2002. Ils ont été rejoints par un grand nombre de nouveaux membres.
