Ohne Ethylbenzol ist die Kurzform BTX gebräuchlich. Diese Substanzen können aus Lösungsmittelverwendung, Altablagerungen (etwa bei Gaswerken), Abgasen von Kraftfahrzeugen oder Versickern von Treibstoff als Schadstoffe ins Trinkwasser gelangen. Die Mittel werden nicht einzeln aufgeführt, sondern summarisch angegeben. Die Giftwirkung besteht in Leberschäden und chronischen Nervenschäden. Benzol ist zusätzlich krebserregend (Leukämie). |
