has gloss	eng: The title of Baron Ross, of Hawkhead in the county of Renfrew, was created in the Peerage of the United Kingdom on 11 August 1815 for George Boyle. He was Earl of Glasgow in the Peerage of Scotland and Lord Lieutenant of Renfrewshire. His mother Elizabeth was the daughter of George Ross, 12th Lord Ross of Hawkhead. The barony became extinct on the death of George Boyle, 6th Earl of Glasgow in 1890; his successor in the Earldom was given the UK barony of Fairlie in 1897.
