has glosseng: According to the Bible, The Beautiful Gate was one of the gates to belonging to the temple Jerusalem prior to its destruction by the Romans in A.D. 70. It was referred to as Beautiful by Luke, physician and loyal disciple to the great apostle Paul, on two occasions in writing Acts of the Apostles. In the third chapter of Acts of the Apostles, Luke relates an account of Peter and John, leading disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, going up together to the temple for prayer some days after Christ had been taken up into Heaven. According to Lukes account they met a lame beggar who sat daily by the gate to beg of persons going into the temple. Having no silver or gold to give him Peter commanded him by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarean to rise up and walk'. The man immediately sprang to his feet and entered with Peter and John into the temple, to the amazement of all who saw him.
