This publication was without melodies and meant to be sung on other well-known Lutheran hymns. Becker included in his Psalter earlier Lutheran Psalmparaphrases (e.g., "Aus tiefer Not," "Ach Gott vom Himmel sieh darein," "Erbarm dich mein," "Ein feste Burg").
