Jackson showed an attachment to the animal and many media sources mocked this. The association—along with other factors—led the public to think of Jackson as a "bizarre eccentric, obsessed with recapturing his childhood", and he was subsequently dubbed "Wacko Jacko". Among several noted outings during his time with the entertainer, Bubbles sat in for the recording sessions of the Bad album and escorted Jackson for the filming of the "Bad" music video. During Jackson's accompanying world tour, the chimpanzee travelled with the singer to Japan.
