| has gloss | deu: Der Endzeitfilm, auch Apokalypsenfilm oder Postapokalyptischer Film, beschreibt ein Filmgenre, in dem die Filmhandlung in einer durch eine globale Katastrophe radikal veränderten Weltordnung situiert ist. Im Gegensatz zur Dystopie, welche die Verschlechterung gesellschaftlicher Verhältnisse beschreibt, entwirft der Endzeitfilm drastische, apokalyptische oder groteske Weltuntergangsszenarien als Extremfall der Dystopie. Der Endzeitfilm ist ein Subgenre des Science-Fiction-Films, wobei dessen Motive gleichzeitig in den Genres des Horror- und Katastrophenfilms Verwendung finden. Es entstand in den 1950er Jahren, nachdem durch die Erfahrungen des Zweiten Weltkriegs und der Atombombenabwürfe auf Hiroshima und Nagasaki eine weltweite Katastrophe möglich erschien. Während bis in die 1980er Jahre hinein meist ein thermonuklearer Weltkrieg oder eine Pandemie die Katastrophe darstellten, wurden in späteren Filmen auch Klimakatastrophen thematisiert. |
