has gloss	eng: Dubai International Academic City (DIAC), is the new development currently under construction near Al Ruwayyah along the Dubai-Al Ain Road in the city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. DIAC is located within Dubai Academic City, which spreads over an area of 129 million sq ft, and the development is scheduled to be completed by 2012. The project was launched in May 2006 as an area where educational institutions from with Dubai Knowledge Village will move to. The purpose of DIAC is to be a base for schools, colleges and universities. Due to the economic climate, an AED700m student accommodation, scheduled to be complete in September 2011 to house 2,800 students, will now be completed in early 2012. However, in 2009, a food court and student activity center were built. More than 12,000 students study in 13 international higher education institutes in DIAC. By 2015, Dubai Academic City expects to have 40,000 students.
