has gloss | eng: E (鄂國) was an ancient kingdom located what is now the province of Hubei in southern China. Its leader was one of the three strong landlords (三公) during the late Shang Dynasty, along with Zhou Dynasty and Guifang ( ). According to Yu Ding (禹鼎), after the rebel of its leader, the King Li of Zhou ordered genocide its people without leaving the old and young. Its land became part of the Chu (state). Today E (鄂) remains a shorten name of the province. Origin There are different theories about its origin, include the Yellow Emperor, Yangyue or Daxi culture. References |
