It utilizes the systems oldest segments (dating back to 1892), extending with 29 stops between Forest Park and Oak Park (Harlem/Lake), through Chicagos Loop, to the South Side and Englewood (Ashland/63rd) and Woodlawn (Cottage Grove/63rd). Construction is planned to start on a 30th station at Morgan sometime in 2009. Average weekday ridership on the Green Line is 65,156 as of October 2009.
