has gloss	eng: The hunting dagger (German: Hirschfänger, or deer catcher) is a long double-edged German stabbing weapon, used to kill deer and boar in the 18th century. It was a weapon mainly used in the fancy hunts of the German nobility. The hunting dagger developed from Medieval hunting swords which were longer and mainly used by mounted hunters. Today hunting daggers are occasionally used as parts of traditional German hunting uniforms.
