| has gloss | eng: The International Halley Watch (IHW) was a project run by NASAs Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), in Pasadena, California. The project ran for almost all of the decade of the 1980s, and it concerned the observation (by any means) of Halleys Comet. The purpose of the project was to coordinate the efforts of amateur astronomers around the world, and to collect raw data to be used in comparison with other observations and calculations. The information derived would be used to update navigational information on unmanned probes sent to the comet during its 1986 perihelion. |
