has glosseng: Kakuma town is located in Turkana District, in the northwestern region of Kenya. Kakuma is the Swahili word for nowhere, epitomizing the seclusion of the area. The town has hosted the Kakuma Refugee Camp since 1992. This camp serves over 70,000 people from neighbouring countries that have been at war for a long time. A majority are from southern Sudan, some from Somalia and the last major group from Ethiopia. Other groups include Burundians, Congolese, Eritreaans and Ugandans. Oddly enough, the local people are, on the average, poorer than the refugees.

has glossben: কাকুমা (ইংরেজি: Kakuma) হচ্ছে কেনিয়ার উত্তর-পশ্চিমাঞ্চলের টারকানা জেলার অন্তর্গত একটি ছোট শহর। সোহায়লি ভাষায় কাকুমা অর্থ এখানে, স্থানটির বিশেষত্ব নির্দেশ করছে। এখানে ১৯৯২ সাল থেকে কাকুমা শরণার্থী শিবিরটি অবস্থিত। দীর্ঘ সময় ধরে চলা যুদ্ধের কারণে পার্শ্ববর্তী দেশগুলো থেকে প্রায় ৭০ হাজার শরণার্থী এখানে আশ্রয় নিয়েছেন। বেশিরভাগ শরণার্থীরা সুদান ও ইথিওপিয়ার নাগরিক। এছাড়াও আছেন সোমালিয়া, বুরুন্ডি, কঙ্গো, ইরিত্রিয়া ও উগান্ডার শরণার্থী। দুর্ভাগ্যজনক হলেও সত্য যে, স্থানীয় মানুষের থেকে শরণার্থীর সংখ্যাই এখানে বেশি।
