| has gloss | eng: In statistics, L-moments are statistics used to summarize the shape of a probability distribution. They are analogous to conventional moments in that they are used to calculate quantities analogous to the mean, standard deviation, skewness and kurtosis of data. In the L-moment field these terms are called L-mean, L-scale, L-skewness and L-kurtosis to distinguish them from the conventional moments and standardised moments. Standardised L-moments are called L-moment ratios. |
