The contestants were originally Isobel Barnett and Eleanor Summerfield versus David Nixon and Richard Murdoch; in later seasons, Gillian Reynolds, Tim Rice, Paul Jennings and Lance Percival. The title is a reference to the English proverb There's many a slip twixt the cup and the lip. |
