has glosseng: Pluronic P-123 (BASF code) is a triblock copolymer, with a formula of HO(CH2CH2O)20(CH2CH(CH3)O)70(CH2CH2O)20H. It has around 5800 Da weight and sold in Aldrich as Poly(ethylene glycol)-block-poly(propylene glycol)-block-poly(ethylene glycol) (PEO-PPO0-PEO). Its behavior is similar to that of hydrocarbon surfactants, and will form micelles when placed in a selective solvent such as water. It is capable of forming both spherical and cylindrical micelles Uses P123 has recently been used in the synthesis of mesoporous materials including FDU-14 .
