has gloss	eng: Sotnyk (; ), was a military rank among the Ukrainian Cossack starshyna (officers), the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, the Ukrainian Galician Army, and the Ukrainian People's Army. A sotnyk was a leader of a military unit (a sotnia), nominally a company of a hundred men. The word is sometimes translated as captain, however the transliteration is also in common usage, for the sake of the historical and social context.
