The main base of operations was Wenatchee, Washington, located at the confluence of the Wenatchee and Columbia Rivers, from the mouth of the river. Operations were mainly between Wenatchee and Bridgeport. Rapids below Wenatchee and above Bridgeport prevented safe navigation.
