has gloss	eng: Units of Action, or Units (sometimes also called beats), were first suggested by Konstantin Stanislavski as a means of helping actors determine the through line or super objective of a role. A unit is a discrete piece of action in a play-text, marked by a significant change in action. This could be a change in what the characters already onstage are doing or trying to do i.e. a change in their objective, a new character entering the scene or those already onstage exiting.

has gloss	jpn: ユニット・オヴ・アクション（英語Units of Action、「演技的単位」の意、単にunits、beatsとも）は、ロシアの演出家コンスタンティン・スタニスラフスキーが最初に示唆した演劇用語である。俳優がある役柄の「スルー・ライン」あるいは「スーパー・オブジェクティヴ（超目標）」を決定するのを助けることの意。ひとつのユニット（単位）は、ひとつの上演台本のなかのべつべつの断片であり、演技に置ける重要な変化によって、区切られる。これは、すでに舞台にあがった登場人物が、そのオブジェクティヴにおける変化を動作したり、しようとこころみたりするところの変化であり、新しい登場人物がシーンに登場したり、あるいはすでに舞台にあがってエキサイティングな登場人物だったりする。
