| has gloss | eng: V is the fifth album by Brazilian rock band Legião Urbana, recorded in the last quarter of 1991 and released on the Emi-Odeon label on December 15, 1991. Its the first album recorded after Renato Russo tested positive for AIDS, which would lead to his death. Though the album wasnt well received upon release, its seen by many as the bands finest release, featuring a more mature style. The songs here are generally longer and slower than on previous albums, and in fact, "Metal Contra As Nuvens" is the longest song the band ever recorded. Its far from Progressive rock, though, instead using Blues, Folk, Medieval and Classical motifs. Two of the songs are instrumentals ("A Ordem Dos Templários" and "Come Share My Life"), and "Love Song" takes its lyrics from a thirteenth century poem by Portuguese poet Nuno Fernandes Torneol. The intro of "O Teatro Dos Vampiros" is based on Pachelbels Canon. |
