The show is hosted by Günther Jauch. The main goal of the game is to win €1 million (earlier 1 million DM) by answering 15 multiple-choice questions correctly. There are normally three lifelines - Fifty Fifty (fünfzig-fünfzig), Phone A Friend (Telefon) and Ask The Audience (Publikumsjoker), but if the contestant wants, a new lifeline called Zusatzjoker or Risikomodus (Additional joker or Risk mode) is added - if the contestant chooses to play the version with this lifeline, he can ask someone in the audience who believes that he/she knows the correct answer for a question, however if the contestant wants to play this variant, the second guaranteed sum (€16,000) isn't a guaranteed sum. |
