The chain consists of six volcanoes known as Heather, Marj, Mary, Terr, Tetroe and Wen that have formed a result of fracturing of the North American lithosphere. At least three Holocene eruptions have been recognized throughout the chain, including a small lava flow from Marj, a deeply eroded cinder cone on the southeastern rim of Tetroe and recent volcanic deposits on the northern rim of Tetroe. |
