| has gloss | eng: Coptology is most commonly defined as the science of Coptic studies. Origin The European interest in Coptology may have started as early as the 15th Century AD. The term was used in 1976 when the First International Congress of Coptology was held in Cairo under the title "Colloquium on the Future of Coptic Studies" (11-17 December). This was followed by the establishment of the "International Association for Coptic Studies". One of the founders of the Colloquium and the Association was Pahor Labib, director of the Coptic Museum in Cairo during 1951-65. The words Coptology and Coptologist were introduced into the English language by Aziz Suryal Atiya. |

| has gloss | arz: القبطولوجيا - بالانجليزى Coptology - هى علم دراسة القبطيات. القبطيات هى تراث مصر التاريخى و الثقافى ( اللغوى و الدينى و الفنى ) اللى بيرجع للعصر القبطى. بدأ الإهتمام بدراسة القبطولوجيا فى اوروبا من القرن الخمستاشر و بدأ استخدام المصطلح سنة 1976 فى القاهره فى مؤتمر عن الدراسات القبطيه. بعد المؤتمر إتأسست هيئه دوليه اسمها " الهيئه الدوليه للدراسات القبطيه International Association for Coptic Studies. و قدر المؤرخ المصرى عزيز سوريال عطيه إنه يدخل كلمات " قبطولوجيا " ( علم القبطيات ) و قبطولوجيست ( عالم قبطيات ) فى قاموس اللغه الانجليزيه. وبقت فيه معاهد علميه بتدرس الماده دى فى أكتر من 47 بلد. الجامعه الامريكيه فى القاهره عملت كرسى بيختص بالعلم ده من سنة 2002 ، لكن لسه الجامعات المصريه ما ضمتش لكلياتها الدراسه دى بطريقه منفصله عن دراسة علم الأثار المصريه زى ما فيه كليات و أقسام مختصه بالعصر الفرعونى و العصر اليونانى الرومانى و العصر الإسلامى. لكن فيه باحثين بيطالبو بتأسيس الفرع ده كقسم مستقل فى الجامعات المصريه. |
