has gloss	eng: Rich Whitney is an Illinois politician and civil rights attorney who was the Illinois Green Party's nominee for Governor of Illinois in the 2006 election. He is also the Green Party candidate for the same office in 2010. During the 2006 campaign Whitney received endorsements from several newspapers, including the Rockford Register Star, Southwest News-Herald, and State School News Service. Whitney received 361,336 votes for 10.4% of the vote, a relatively strong finish for a third party.
